A Memorial foundation to Fred Jones
...Continuing his legacy and love of music
about the herk foundation
|
The Herk Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to supporting music education programs in Mississippi. Through scholarships, grants, and opportunities to experience music, the foundation aims to foster a deeper appreciation for the arts. It was established in memory of Fred Earl Jones, nicknamed "Herk," who served as the band director at H.W. Byers High School (Sand Flat) and was a passionate advocate for music.
The foundation’s mission is to enhance the appreciation of music and performing arts within the North Mississippi community and surrounding areas. It achieves this by offering young people access to educational music programs, scholarships, and other initiatives that empower the next generation of musicians and performers. |
