the History
The Herk Foundation is a memorial to Fred E. Jones and his positive impact on his family, friends, and community through music, education, and Christian values. In efforts to continue his legacy, his daughters, Lisa Jones and Calandra Jones-Howard with the blessing of his wife, Martha Jones, founded this organization. The vision for the Herk Foundation was formed on October 27, 2002. Finally, in February of 2008, the Herk Foundation was officially founded. In 2008-2009 school year, in remembrance of the 20th-year anniversary of his death, the Herk Foundation awarded its first scholarship in May 2009.
